Privacy Policy

Privacy

Effective July 13, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how trend, inc. (“trend,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our services at trend.dev and the associated web applications (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and (if you subscribe) the payment details required by our payment processor. If you authenticate via Google, we receive your email and profile name from Google.

Workspace metadata. To operate the Service we store workspace names, dataset names, dashboard configurations, saved SQL queries, and the connection metadata you configure (host, port, database name). Warehouse credentials (passwords, private keys, service-account JSON) are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM before storage.

Warehouse data. We do not store your query results. Every chart re-runs its query against your warehouse on load. Data flows through our infrastructure only long enough to render the chart in your browser.

Usage telemetry. We record standard application logs (which endpoints were called, from which workspace, how long they took) so we can debug issues and enforce rate limits.

Cookies. We use a small number of essential cookies for authentication and session management.

How we use it

We use the information above to (a) operate and improve the Service, (b) authenticate you and enforce workspace access, (c) bill you if you’re on a paid plan, (d) respond to support requests, and (e) send you occasional service emails (e.g., a payment failed, a member was invited to your workspace). We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Sharing with subprocessors

We rely on the following processors to deliver the Service:

  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Anthropic (AI assistance — only when your workspace has opted in to the AI add-on)

Each processor is bound by its own data protection commitments. We never send warehouse data or query results to these processors — only the metadata needed to run the Service.

Your rights

If you’re in a jurisdiction with data-protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, and similar), you have the right to (a) request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, (b) request that we correct or delete it, (c) restrict or object to processing, and (d) lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@trend.dev.

International transfers

trend is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required by law we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

Changes to this Policy

We’ll post any material change here and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we process your information we’ll email workspace owners in advance.
